mill&mia Craft Parties

Committed to creating an environment for children that is inspirational, nurturing, calm & creative, mill&mia is pleased to announce the launch of it’s unique in-store craft party program.

Parties are custom designed to suit each child, and young guests will be taught a craft activity by the brand’s in-house designers followed by a delicious feast. Craft activities are as varied as creating hair accessories, mermaid or pirate mobiles and bird hair clip hangers.

mill&mia parties include:
Lolly Bags, Craft Packs, Themed table decorations, healthy home made party food and home made cup cakes. Cost per child $39.00. Note: Minimum 15, maximum 20 children, birthday cake not provided.

Inclusive in the above price, mill&mia provide custom made invitations featuring the chosen theme, with the child’s name and all party details.

Parties will be held each Sunday for the duration of 1 1/2 hours from 11am - 12.30pm.

Each and every element for the mill&mia craft classes below is custom designed, hand cut and created by our in house textile designer Erinn Metcalfe or the other crafty souls at mill&mia with the primary aim of teaching children about the beauty of craft, and creating an object that will be truly valued and loved for years to come.

Craft Class Schedule for 2010

• 6th February, Make your own birdy hairclip hanger from the beautiful fabrics and trims from the mill&mia treasure trove. Children will learn about fabric co-ordination, colour, texture and hand stitching and create an object that is both gorgeous and practical
• 6th March, Design your own mini fashion collection! Children will learn how the designers at mill&mia create new collections each season and will have an opportunity to design their own fashion designs on paper. They will learn about each stage of the design process from sketches, garment design, pattern, colour and detail to the finished product in store. Beautiful templates will be provided for each child to design and create their own fabulous designs. This class is perfect for older children interested in design
• 3rd April, NO CLASSES AS EASTER WEEKEND
• 1st May, Make your own crazy doll! Children will be provided with lovingly hand made fabric heads, bodies, arms and legs from the busy bees at mill&mia and will attach them altogether, paint and decorate their faces, make their clothes, hand bead their dolls jewels and create their little woolly hair dos. This class was first taught in the January 2010 holiday programme and has been one of our most rewarding and special classes. Dolls will be treasured for years to come
• 5th June, Paint your own set of wooden Russian dolls. Learn how to paint your own family of dolls and decorate each one with the gorgeous trims from the mill&mia collection. This is a very cute class for siblings to do and will only be charged at $25 per family as they will share each set of dolls
• 3rd July, Create your own tree canvas for your room from the wonderful custom textiles and trims from the mill&mia collection. Children will be provided with a blank canvas and hand cut fabric tree trunks, leaves, birdies, butterflies, squirrels and owls which can then be embellished with trims, hand painting and buttons.

mill&mia Storytime

Every Friday morning from 9.30am - 10.30am mill&mia’s own Melissa Chen or guest reader entertains children by reading a number of themed books followed by an arts and crafts session. Previous sessios have included; reading monster books and making wearable monster hands and decorating and colouring animals custom designed in-house. All storytimes end with a home made treat! Bookings not required.
